Bay-Lee-Mac Camp is
situated within the ecologically diverse landscape of northern Ontario,
just north of Temagami. It
is representative of the southern boreal site regions
that surround Rib Lake.
This area of approximately 5,000 acres enables the adventuring fisherman,
hiker, ATVing enthusiast, and the canoeist an opportunity of a lifetime.
You can explore the old
growth forests, view diverse ecology, and rare geological formations that are being
protected in the Temagami area by the Cliff Lake Conservation Reserve to
ensure this precious land will be available for future generations to
enjoy and explore. On the east shore of Rib Lake sits one of the area’s greatest natural secrets, the
Cliff Lake
Conservation Reserve, only
11 miles north of Temagami. Within its
boundaries you will find a variety of lakes
including Rib, Friday, Fat (Summit) Slim,
Roosevelt, and Prud’Homme, which are all coldwater trout lakes.
These lakes also support
a variety of other cold water fish such as walleye, brook trout, perch,
smallmouth bass, and whitefish, and of course the northern
pike. Just click on Ontarioanglerawards.com
and view our entries from Bay-Lee-Mac Camp over the past few years! You need
only the right lures to make your fishing dreams come true.
Photo opportunities
abound with every click of your shutter! Magnificent flora,
exotic fungi, as well as many types of wildlife in its natural
environment. There are many wetlands where moose can be found
feeding throughout the summer months. Various hiking and ATV trails
wind their way through the
reserve allowing our pristine wilderness to be viewed in its splendour. The
conservation reserve is well suited to outdoor recreation, ecotourism and
nature appreciation.
